Private coordination for official channels
Diplomatic and official visa matters involve government authorities and diplomatic missions. Immigration Nepal is a private administrative consultancy. We can help an applicant or sponsor organize information, check a document set for basic consistency, and prepare questions to take to the competent official channel. We are not a government office, embassy, diplomatic mission, law firm, or representative of Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs or Department of Immigration.
We do not create or issue official notes, notes verbales, recommendations, accreditation, privileges, or government correspondence. We do not contact an authority while claiming official status, and we cannot obtain diplomatic standing, an exemption, a visa, an extension, or a particular outcome. The relevant mission or organization, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Department of Immigration determine the appropriate category, status, recommendation, fees, validity, and outcome.
Diplomatic and Official are distinct categories
The Department of Immigration describes a Diplomatic Visa as relating to a holder of a diplomatic passport recommended by the concerned foreign diplomatic mission, a person considered fit for diplomatic privileges by the Government of Nepal, and the family members of such a person. The Department states that this visa is issued on a reciprocity basis. Its published application information refers to an application format, while noting that the form is not required when a foreign diplomatic mission or authorized body makes a request or recommendation accompanied by the details. These statements do not establish that a particular person qualifies.
The Department describes an Official Visa for persons on an official visit to Nepal and identifies a spouse and children as eligible family members. Its published requirements include a recommendation from the concerned Government of Nepal agency or diplomatic mission. The Department lists an online application to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or an Immigration Officer at a port of entry, with the recommendation attached. Applicants and sponsors should confirm the appropriate route and current instructions with the authority before relying on them.
Readiness support
We can help the applicant or sponsor prepare a private working file: clarify which official channel they already plan to use, arrange supplied materials in a clear order, compare names and dates across copies, identify missing information for follow-up, and format a non-official cover index or question list. For diplomatic matters, this can include checking that the sponsor has supplied the mission request or recommendation they intend to use. For official-visit matters, it can include checking that the sponsor has supplied the relevant agency or mission recommendation. We cannot draft, reproduce, sign, or issue either official document.
We do not publish a universal passport, family, fee, or supporting-document checklist for these categories. The official sources describe category-specific information, but the exact file and current instructions depend on the case and responsible authority. Ask the mission, sponsoring organization, Ministry, or Immigration Officer what originals, copies, formats, translations, or other material are required. Do not send sensitive originals to us for routine coordination.
How coordination works
- Identify the official route. Tell us whether the matter concerns a Diplomatic Visa or Official Visa and which mission or sponsoring body is already handling official communications. We do not decide the category.
- Confirm the current checklist. The applicant or sponsor obtains current requirements and any prescribed forms directly from the competent mission or authority. We can help turn those instructions into a private working checklist.
- Organize supplied materials. We arrange copies and information in the sequence requested, and note visible inconsistencies or unanswered items for the applicant or sponsor to resolve.
- Prepare questions and a file index. We can format a non-official index or list of questions. We do not prepare official recommendations, diplomatic notes, or representations.
- Return the file for official handling. The applicant or sponsor submits materials through the official channel and responds to requests from the authority. Only the relevant authorities make decisions.
Common questions
Can you issue or arrange a diplomatic note or recommendation?
No. Only the competent mission, sponsoring body, or government authority can create or issue its own official communication. We can help organize the materials around a document that the authorized sponsor has supplied.
Can you tell me whether I qualify?
No. We can explain the publicly stated distinctions and help prepare questions. The mission, organization, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, or Department of Immigration determines status, category, eligibility, and recommendation.
Are diplomatic and official visas interchangeable?
The Department publishes separate descriptions and requirements for Diplomatic and Official Visas. The relevant authority determines which category, if any, applies to a specific person or visit.
What documents should I send you?
Start with the current instructions received from the official channel and ask us what limited copies are needed for the coordination you request. The Department’s published information mentions a diplomatic passport and mission recommendation for Diplomatic Visa matters, and a recommendation from a Government of Nepal agency or diplomatic mission for Official Visa matters. This is not a complete universal checklist.
Do you guarantee a visa, exemption, extension, timing, or fee?
No. We cannot promise or determine fees, processing time, visa validity, exemption, recommendation, or outcome. Confirm current requirements and any charges directly with the responsible authority.

Frequently asked questions
Can Immigration Nepal issue or arrange a diplomatic note or recommendation?
No. Immigration Nepal is a private administrative consultancy and cannot create or issue official communications. The authorized mission, sponsor, or government authority handles its own official note or recommendation.
Can you confirm that I qualify for a Diplomatic or Official Visa?
No. We can help organize information and prepare questions. The responsible mission, sponsoring body, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, or Department of Immigration determines category, status, eligibility, and recommendation.
Are Diplomatic and Official Visas the same category?
No. The Department of Immigration publishes separate descriptions for each. It describes Diplomatic Visa matters in relation to diplomatic passports, mission recommendations, and persons considered fit for privileges by the Government of Nepal. Official Visa matters relate to official visits, with a recommendation from a Government of Nepal agency or diplomatic mission. The authority decides which route applies.
What documents should I prepare?

The Department's published information refers to a diplomatic passport and mission recommendation for Diplomatic Visa matters, and a recommendation from a Government of Nepal agency or diplomatic mission for Official Visa matters. Those references are not a complete universal checklist.
