Prepare to use the public FNMIS route
The Department of Immigration’s NepaliPort portal identifies a Service Provider portal for the Foreign Nationals Management Information System (FNMIS). The public service-provider screen offers an online registration form. Its visible fields cover the organization name, location and address, map coordinates, provider type and purpose, documents, and a user contact. The Department’s official notice page also publishes an urgent notice about FNMIS implementation, dated 2082 Mangsir 11. The notice page itself does not expose the notice’s instructions in readable text, so confirm current applicability and reporting instructions directly with the Department before relying on them.
Immigration Nepal provides private administrative readiness help. We can map the fields visible on the public form to information your organization already maintains, organize copies of records for your own review, and prepare questions for the Department. We are not the Department of Immigration, a law firm, an FNMIS operator, or an authorized registration agent. We do not create accounts, enter or submit registration details, send reports, or decide whether an organization must register.
What the public form shows
The registration screen marks the service-provider name, state, district, municipality, address, map location, type, purpose, company registration document, PAN/VAT certificate, PAN number, contact person’s full name and position, mobile number, and email as required fields. It also displays a logo upload and tax-clearance certificate upload without a required marker. These are labels on the public form, not a complete statement of current legal requirements or proof that every organization has the same obligations. Ask the Department whether the form, document formats, file limits, provider category, and required attachments apply to your organization.
Prepare only what is needed for a readiness discussion. A first review can use your organization’s general service-provider context and a copy or notes from the public form. Do not send passwords, one-time codes, account tokens, identity documents, foreign-national records, or unnecessary personal information. If an official process later calls for sensitive records, the organization should provide them through the official channel after confirming the request and handling method.
How readiness assistance works
- Describe the organization’s role. Explain at a high level what service the organization provides and why it is checking the FNMIS route. We do not decide whether registration is legally required.
- Review the visible registration fields. We can turn the public form labels into an internal checklist, including organization, location, type and purpose, document, and contact-person sections.
- Organize records for internal review. Arrange the organization’s own registration and tax-document copies and note which public form labels appear marked required. The organization confirms accuracy and controls its records.
- Prepare questions for the Department. List uncertainties about applicability, category, required documents, reporting steps, and current support channels for the organization to ask the Department of Immigration.
- Proceed through official channels. The organization decides what information to provide and handles any account creation, registration, or reporting directly with the Department. Only the Department can explain its current process and determine any official status or outcome.
Frequently asked questions
What does FNMIS stand for?
The Department of Immigration’s public portal expands the name as Foreign Nationals Management Information System. The same portal links a Service Provider route to the system.
Does every organization have to register?
The public registration screen alone does not establish which organizations must register or whether the form applies to a particular entity. Share the organization’s general role with the Department of Immigration and ask it to confirm applicability and any current requirements.
Which documents does the public registration screen show?
It marks a company registration document and PAN/VAT certificate as required and shows a tax-clearance certificate upload without a required marker. It also asks for a PAN number. Confirm current document requirements, file specifications, and applicability directly with the Department before preparing a submission.
Can Immigration Nepal register us or submit information in FNMIS?
No. Immigration Nepal is a private consultancy and does not operate FNMIS or act for the Department. Your organization must use official channels for account creation, registration, and any reporting. We can help organize a readiness checklist and questions beforehand.
Can you confirm that our organization is compliant?
No. We can compare an internal checklist with the public fields and instructions your organization provides, but we cannot certify compliance, determine legal duties, or promise registration, acceptance, correction, exemption, or any other official outcome.
For private help organizing public FNMIS registration information and questions, contact Immigration Nepal. Please do not send credentials, one-time codes, or foreign-national records.
